MOVIE THURSDAY: PUULUUP – CABLES STILL IN THE CAR
“Puuluup – Cables Still in the Car” is a music documentary that reveals the lives and creative process of Ramo Teder and Marko Veisson, members of the talharpa duo Puuluup, during the years they are reaching the peak of international success. The journey of this middle-aged boy band playing “neo-zombie-post-folk” music to the top of the world is characterized by dry humor and absurd situations. In this global portrait film, the glory of the stage and the mundane reality of everyday life collide. The film also takes a look behind the scenes at how the song with the band 5miinust was created—the one that represented Estonia at Eurovision and whose name the band members can’t even spell correctly.
The film “Puuluup – Cables Still in the Car” was produced by Münchhausen Films and created by director Taavi Arus, who has directed all of Puuluup’s music videos to date and has followed the band’s activities with a camera since 2017. Taavi Arus has proven himself to be one of the most prolific and talented music documentary filmmakers in Estonia, being one of the authors of music films such as “Lil Eesti”, “Enam kui elu”, and the documentary about the new wave of Estonian punk, “Kõik teevad kõike valesti”.
