When 17-year-old Johanne falls in love with her French teacher, her feelings become overwhelming. The only way for her to cope is to record her emotions in a diary. After reading the text, Johanne’s mother and grandmother—both also having literary inclinations—overcome their initial surprise and even plan to publish Johanne’s diary, fascinated by the girl’s writing style, honesty, and the story of pure infatuation. At the same time, it is not at all clear whether what is written reflects reality or if these are just dreams.
