Kolumbus Kris was born in 1987 when a group of experienced musicians, with years of rocker life and thousands of kilometers between stages behind them, came together. Although the name was new, they were no beginners—experience had been gathered on stages across Estonia and the former Soviet Union alongside legends like Gunnar Graps and Tõnis Mägi.

The band’s first major performance took place at the Tartu Pop Music Days, and from then on, they were a natural part of Estonia’s great rock wave. They performed everywhere rock lived and audiences gathered—during the Singing Revolution and further afield in Lithuania, Latvia, and Ukraine. Music was recorded at both the Raadiomaja and Linnahall studios.
